Bags fly at 9:00 AM in downtown Wake Forest
The Cars & Carnivores cornhole tournament is built for everyone: two players per team, $40 per team, and adults and kids are welcome to team up. First bags fly at 9:00 AM, and the top two teams take home prizes along with the bragging rights. Every entry benefits the Wake Forest Rotary Foundation and its medical debt relief work for local families.
Between games you are in the middle of Wake Forest's biggest street party: the car show runs until 2:00 PM, the SCA steak cook-off smokes all day, and admission to the festival is free. Check the festival map for the courts and parking.
How the games are scored
Standard cornhole cancellation scoring: a bag on the board is worth 1 point, a bag in the hole is worth 3, and each round a team earns the difference between the two teams' totals. First team to 21 wins, the match ends only after both players toss all their bags, and the winner of the previous round tosses first.
- Fouls
- The pitcher's foot must stay behind the front edge of the board while pitching; a bag that touches the ground is removed from play (no bouncing or skipping in), and bags hanging off the board that touch the ground are removed
- Disputes
- The tournament judge has the final call on all disputes, no exceptions
Pre-registration is required; the button links out. Registration for the 2027 tournament opens closer to the festival.
